Intention of a drama

This story is about a rhythmic seashore village in Gongjin-dong, Cheongho-si. There's no gate, there's no gate, there's a bunch of food coming and going like a good brother. The universal gravitation of warm humans, whose average body temperature is certain to be about 1 degree higher, works!

It is a discordant love story in which two men and women, who have the exact opposite tempo of their lives, step on each other's feet. The harmony between Yoon Hye-jin, a achievement-oriented woman, and Hong Banjang, a happiness-seeking man, is simply the worst. You miss the rhythm and the steps don't fit, but the squeak somehow starts to get interesting. The man's ease looks wonderful, and the woman's busyness feels sweet. Their tiki-taka push-and-pull romance unfolds in 4/4 beats!

It is a real human story in which all the villagers become the main characters. Everyone goes on the stage of life, and on top of that, he is the main character. Every being has its own value.
Sometimes it shows that the grains of sand glistening in the sun shine more than pearls. The special daily lives of ordinary people are coming!

Unfortunately, dance is not included in this drama. But listen to this cute and pleasant sea village with waves. If your mind suddenly starts to dance, that's enough.

User Rating : 8.6 IMDb

There are many opinions that it is a healing drama that we meet after a long time on tvN. Based on the comic and sweet flirting and romance development of the male and female protagonists, the stories of the villagers were drawn pleasantly and emotionally. In addition, there are many opinions that the drama is healing because it captures the scenery of the village well. Almost every episode deals with the stories of one or two villagers in detail, and viewers who want to focus on melodrama do not like it very much, while viewers who like warm emotions like family dramas are receiving favorable reviews.

Five years of Hong Doo-sik's past has been treated mysteriously, showing that it is not simply a warm healing drama. When Hong Doo-sik accompanied Yoon Hye-jin to Seoul, he visited the hospital with a nervous look, which turned out to be a nightmare, and at the end of the fifth inning, a mixture of mysterious factors such as a nightmare being specifically described is causing tension.

When Yoon Hye-jin, who was gradually adapting to the resonance, traveled to Seoul for a while in the 10th episode, she finally realizes how she feels about Hong Doo-sik. While eating at a restaurant with her friend, Pyo Mi-seon, Han River View, she suddenly feels longing for Gongjin, recalling the sea of Gongjin. It rains as I leave the restaurant after eating. Looking at the rain, I reminisce, and I wake up to love as I recall the day when I was rained on in Gongjin. Yoon Hye-jin, who immediately returned to Gongjin, visits Hong Doo-sik without hiding her excited heart and expression. Next, he confesses his love to Hong Doo-sik straight away. An awakening scene and a confession scene were created with the emotion of an honest and pure girl excited about love, which are hard to see in Korean dramas. This scene caused a great response, and Melo, which had been a little sluggish, exploded, surpassing 11% viewership for the first time.

As Yoon Hye-jin's character personality, a planned realist, melts into the relationship history of the two, the love line is mainly developed from Yoon Hye-jin's point of view, such as writing a bucket list in Excel.

After the relationship between the two has progressed, the story of Hong Doo-sik's past, which was not in the original book, is revealed little by little, and Yoon Hye-jin feels disappointed by his lover Hong Doo-sik's inability to fully open his heart. Since Hong Doo-sik's past is bound to be depressing, some say it is regrettable that it has been a lively romance until the 12th episode, but has been a little droopy as it approaches the past. In episode 14, Hong Doo-sik's past began to be revealed in earnest, and there was a response that it was embarrassing or shocking due to the sudden story development and atmosphere change. The ratings hit a new high.

In the 15th episode, all the past was revealed, and a situation was developed in which people in the past were released little by little. At first, Yoon Hye-jin is confused by Hong Doo-sik's self-criticism for killing people, but afterwards, she rather comforts Hong Doo-sik, who was trapped in the dark past and had a hard time himself. Some said they cried a lot because they were sad, but others said it was difficult to understand the development, saying, "Isn't it technically Hong Doo-sik's fault?" There was a comment that it was regrettable that the situation of the villagers was also suddenly developed.

Still, the response to the final round was good. It is said that Shin Min-ah and Kim Sun-ho's romantic acting and Gongjin people also drew it well.

Supporting actors with unique characters

Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha is a drama starring Shin Min-ah and Kim Sun-ho. It is a drama in which bitter and warm stories between the characters are conducted in an omnibus manner every episode, giving a calm aftertaste. In particular, the characters of the villagers appearing in the play are one of the kickpoints of this drama.

How good the supporting actors are!  I think I watched it with a smile throughout the whole time. You can say that it feels similar to the drama "When the Camellia Blooms" starring Gong Hyo-jin, who was greatly loved the year before last!

1.

Pyo Mi-seon

Pyo Mi-seon

She is a character who appears as a friend of Yoon Hye-jin in the play. As a friend who has lived with Yoon Hye-jin since her childhood, she comes out as a person who lived with her from Seoul and came down to Gongjin with her friend. She is the second most important person in the drama after the main character, and appears as a powerful scene stealer in the drama with a comic performance. You'll know when you watch the drama, but it comes out really fun. LOL

2.

Ji Seung-hyun

Ji Seung-hyun

He's one of the hottest actors these days! He appears as a genius producer full of clumsiness as a character who likes the heroine in the drama. A magical character who makes viewers fans with his charm that they can't hate!

3.

Cho Nam-sook

Cho Nam-sook

Finally, she is my favorite character in this drama. Personally, I think she is a scene stealer in the drama. She is a hateful character, but on the other hand, she has a warm heart, a funny way of speaking, and an unrivaled unique character, and is responsible for the code of laughter. When you watch the drama, you'll think that she's really good at acting. Kind of like Oh Jung-se in "When the Camellia Blooms"? Anyway, she's such an attractive character.

There's an original movie?

The movie Hong Banjang, which was released in the spring of 2004, was included in the top 5 Korean movies I enjoyed watching. It's not like there's a grand narrative, but in a way, it's a melodrama, but personally, the characters of the male and female characters are so lovely and pretty that I've seen them more than 10 times.

As a result, not only singer and movie star Uhm Jung-hwa, but also the now deceased Kim Joo-hyuk was considered a pretty popular celebrity at the time.

I feel very lonely when I think of Kim Joo-hyuk, who still does not know the exact cause of death. Kim Joo-hyuk, the son of famous actor Kim Moo-saeng, who is known to have been on bad terms, was rumored to have married a famous actress at the time. I broke up with this actress who was shedding tears at Kim Moo-saeng's funeral for some reason, and I also remember being heartbroken because it didn't seem like it was someone else. Even though it may have been a show window lover.

Korean actor

Born on October 3, 1972 to died on October 30, 2017 (45 years old)

180cm, 74kg, 275mm, Type A, no religion

He is the second son of senior actor Kim Moo-saeng, and after graduating from Dongguk University's Department of Theater and Film, he made his debut in 1997 with Oh Ji-hee's film "Urban Secret Story of the City." He is also one of the rare cases in which he succeeded as an actor as a second-generation middle-aged actor. He showed stable acting in various genres across movies and dramas, led the heyday of the program by appearing in Season 3 of "1 Night 2 Days," and further raised public awareness by earning the nickname "Gutangi-hyung." On October 30, 2017, when he was expanding his acting spectrum, he died early in a mysterious traffic accident.

The drama "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha" is based on the movie Hong Banjang, and the main plot and character seem to be almost the same as the movie.

Shin Min-ah, who is so pretty, is still showing off her seductive charm, but now she is showing off her mature beauty as she gets older. Kim Sun-ho, who plays the role of Hong Banjang, an all-around unemployed person from Seoul National University, also shows a different charm from Kim Joo-hyuk.

Thanks to this, the feeling of the love cells that I knew had already disappeared is very pleasant. The battle scene between a dentist who graduated from a prestigious dental school and an unemployed man who graduated from Seoul National University of Technology verifying each other was a comic scene that showed a very funny and sad reality.

The charming romantic comedy "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha" overwhelms the movie "Hong Banjang," which clearly reveals the hard work of the beach. It provides a refreshing eye feast with the charm of drone shooting.

The delicious episodes of supporting actors, which were not seen in the movie, also bring out the charm of the drama well. Although I have already watched it several times and almost memorized the contents of the movie, I am enjoying the drama without losing track of time with another charm. Hong Banjang, who is nosy that appears without fail when something happens to someone somewhere, may be a small hero of our time who can imitate something similar to some extent.

The filming location of the drama is Pohang, and it was filmed in various places around Seokbyung 1-ri, Guryongpo. The drama "When the Camellia Blooms" was also filmed in Pohang, right?

8 comparisons between dramas and original movies (as of the beginning)

1.

Yoon Hye-jin, the heroine in the movie, is depicted as if she is seeing a seashore village for the first time, but Yoon Hye-jin, the heroine in the drama, is related to Gongjin, a seashore village. Another thing is that the filming location was Jeju Island, and the filming location of the drama was Pohang.

2.

In the movie, the first meeting between the two takes place when Hye-jin visits the place where Hong Banjang works through the introduction of an elderly person in the neighborhood. And the first meeting in the drama takes place when Hwa-jin, who visited Gongjin Beach on her mother's birthday, finds her lost shoes and Hong Banjang, who was surfing, finds her a pair.

3.

Both have the same setting where Hong Doo-sik speaks informally from the beginning. And she says, "Why are you talking informally?" And Hye-jin ends up speaking comfortably.

4.

Whether in a movie or in a drama, Hong Banjang will participate in everything in the seashore village. It's really a person who appears when something happens to someone somewhere. Of course, I'll take your pay. In the movie, Hong Banjang calculates 50,000 won (about $45) per day, and in the drama, he calculates the minimum hourly wage (about $8).

5.

There are some similarities between the movie and drama episodes themselves. It's like Hong Banjang coming to pick up Hyejin who was sleeping late to clean up the neighborhood. But the original is not the same drama, but a movie, so it's obvious, but there are much more episodes adapted.

6.

While watching the drama, I wondered why Hong Doo-sik did this and that and didn't settle down in one job properly. When I watch the movie, I think it's a bit of an analogy. In the movie, Doo-sik lost his parents in a car accident when he was young, and there was no one to take care of him because he had no relatives. So the villagers of the seashore decided to take care of the children after a meeting. The grandfather of the local rice restaurant accepted it as an adopted son. In addition, education and child support expenses were jointly provided by the local people. In order to repay this heart, it is presumed that Doo-sik is living to help the villagers with the minimum wage.

7.

In both the movie and the drama, Hong Banjang put the boat on the hill. You may have been curious about this part while watching the drama. The story hasn't come out in the drama yet, but the reason why Hong Doo-sik put the boat on the hill in the movie was because I thought I would go alone if I just put it down in the sea. Doo-sik was sad that everyone would leave if he loved him. Both my parents and my grandfather who raised me. I just wanted you to stay with me. So at first, even though Doo-sik had Hye-jin in mind, he was afraid to love her. I'm afraid I'm leaving. In the movie, Hwa Sa says this line at the end. "Now you can put the ship down in the sea. "Because I'm here." That was a very warm word.

8.

Three years in movies and five years in dramas. There is no record of Hong Doo-sik. This mysterious record was full of rumors. I wonder if the drama will remain a rumor or the narrative will be solved.
